Tara Donovan, Untitled 2003. Styrofoam cups and hot glue. Tara Donovan is interesting to me because of her process of repeating materials. Through this process, she is able to abstract the material to great enough degree to fully study what, exactly, a styrofoam cup really is.

Rauschenberg, Rebus 1955. Mixed Media. Rauschenberg has generally influenced the way I have sought to incorporate external media and material into my painting. Additionally, Rauschenberg's use of mixed media in painting informs the way I view paint itself as a material.

Jessica Stockholder Untitled 1990. Mixed Media. Influential mostly on my aesthetic choices regarding composition and the making of collages. Additionally, Stockholder fueled much my initial interest in connecting painting and sculpture.
